alex young launched villager as a dj project following years of touring from ages 15 to 19 alongside acts like skrillex, diplo, and kaytranada. stepping back from the circuit to develop as a producer, young spent several years refining craft and accumulating material, with initial releases arriving in 2020. the project channels a philosophy of unfiltered creative expression across varied sonic territories.
