the funk hunters is the project of longtime collaborators nick middleton and duncan smith, who draw on old-school funk, soul, and hip-hop in their electronic productions. middleton produced, co-wrote, and mixed their debut album typecast, while smith leads the project's live performances. their catalog of original productions, remixes, and collaborations has accumulated over ten million track streams, and they have won the electronic/dance artist of the year award at the western canadian music awards.
