simon scott

simon scott (born 1971) is a british mastering engineer, sound artist, and multi-instrumentalist based in cambridge, uk, and a drummer for slowdive. his debut album below sea level was released in may 2012 on the 12k label and rereleased in 2015 by the uk label touch as part of their touchline digital series. his work draws on digital signal manipulation, micro-melodies, and minimalism combined with environmental sounds and organic acoustic textures, with interests in sound ecology, music technology, and composition. floodlines, a live room recording from a january 2016 performance at london's cafe oto, was released on cd by touch that year. since the late 1990s his work has appeared in international films and sonic art exhibitions.
