qawaq is a hi-tech project by maurício naves, based in são paulo, brazil. the project name draws from the quechuan word for "empath" — literally "who sees" — derived from the verb meaning "to see" living energy. naves was involved with music from an early age across several genres before turning to electronic music production in 2018 and launching the qawaq project in 2019.
