nylon beat was a finnish pop duo active from 1995 to 2003, with brief returns in 2007 and 2018. the group was launched after winning the television talent programme "kiitorata" in 1995, which earned them a recording contract. over their career they received eight gold and seven platinum records, and were named band of the year at the 1999 emma awards.
