mandragora

mandragora are a band from brighton, england, formed in 1983, whose early output combined psychedelic rock with ethnic sounds and tribal rhythms in a space-rock and world dance-music style. they built a following on the free festival circuit of the 1980s and 1990s and were signed to delerium records, releasing five albums of their own and a collaborative album with phil thornton. in later years the group evolved into a world music and electronic dance act featuring musicians and singers from varied backgrounds.
