mama gaia

mama gaia is the dj alias of ylva ek, a stockholm-based djane active in progressive psytrance and deep house since 2005. she is a co-founder of the stockholm psytrance organiser underbravidunder (ubv) and the stockholm hippie market festival, and has received best female underground dj at the swedish underground elly awards in 2011 and female trance dj of the year in 2016. her sound ranges from bright off-beat progressive material to darker, heavier rolling basslines. since 2020 she has been part of the roster at beta music, the booking agency run by shahar shtrikman (static movement), and in 2021 released her debut track alive on spin twist records in collaboration with alter nature.
