jalaya crafts bass-heavy music blending dubstep, trap, and experimental elements with dark gritty basslines and intricate percussion that cuts through glitchy distortion. raised in the tetons and based in denver, he began his musical journey as a drummer over two decades ago before establishing himself in the bay area bass scene. in 2019 he founded lofreq, a record label and event company that has released compilations and eps from over 100 artists. his work has appeared on bassrush, subcarbon, saturate, morflo, and sleeveless records, drawing support from artists across the bass music landscape.
