hixxy

hixxy was born in august 1975 in portsmouth, uk, and came to rave music in the 1990s after an early obsession with us hip-hop, rap, and dmc championship videos. he became resident dj for overload, promoted by supreme on the isle of wight, initially under the name dj hix before adding letters at the suggestion of ramos. through that period he befriended dougal, a connection that led to the founding of the essential platinum label in 1995; he also spent time at the fusion record shop in portsmouth, where he gained access to a studio run by sunset regime and cut his first track, people's party.
