dj goa jonas grew up in goa from the age of five, starting in 1989, and was exposed to psytrance from a young age. at twelve he approached an older dj for instruction and began building a music collection, starting with dat tapes borrowed from his mentors. he made his first public appearance at the legendary goan venue disco valley in 1997 and went on to play numerous parties across goa throughout his early teens, including at hill top, south anjuna beach, and bamboo forest. at fourteen he performed at boom festival in portugal in 1998, which the bio describes as the youngest dj ever to play on the main floor.
