dr meaker is a multigenre band from bristol that began in 2004 as a sound system combining electronic and acoustic musicians. their track 'rubber gloves' earned airplay on rob da bank's bbc radio 1 show, and frontman clive meaker went on to win funding through the bbc's urban talent bursary award scheme. the grant supported the recording of the band's debut album, 'a lesson from the speaker'.
