dj set is the solo electronic project of callum galletly, a brisbane-based drummer previously associated with punk and post-punk acts including clever, black deity, and guppy. working outside the guitar-band format, galletly constructs rhythmic compositions from sampled vocal fragments, looped textures, and layered electronic sounds. his first release as dj set, tropical cancer rort, was described by critic patrick zaia as combining dreamy vocal loops with jittery electronic trills and chaotic beat assemblages.
