dj minx is a detroit dj and producer whose skills were honed at the music institute, where leading detroit dance djs were active. in 2001 she founded women on wax recordings, a platform for her own productions and local talent, with the sub-imprint w.o.w. b.a.m. (women on wax bangin' ass music); her 2003 track "a walk in the park" is regarded as a label classic. she hosts the weekly queen beats radio show on deepspaceradio and runs parties during movement weekend in detroit. mixmag has counted her among the women who shaped dance-music history, and timeout new york has listed her among the best house djs of all time.
