desert dwellers

desert dwellers is the duo of amani friend and treavor moontribe, who began as independent producers and djs in the deserts of new mexico and california before joining forces in the late 1990s through the moontribe scene. the pair are known for downtempo, psy-bass, and tribal trance work that weaves deep bass, earthy percussion, and cross-cultural instrumentation with field recordings from the natural world. they have toured across six continents, shared the road with shpongle for a seven-week stretch, and performed at festivals including shambhala, lightning in a bottle, envision, coachella, rainbow serpent, and boom.
