datura

datura was formed in 1991 by stefano mazzavillani and ciro pagano, taking their name from the plant referenced in carlos castaneda's 'the teachings of don juan' and the italian comic 'tex willer'. the project began by involving prominent djs from the early-90s techno scene, a collaboration that continued until 1995, during which time they released several hit singles and worked with numerous artists, earning recognition as among the godfathers of trance music. from 2007 onward they became communicators of 90s music through tv and radio appearances, compilations, and dj sets, and later launched the datura club 90s project.
