chromeo

chromeo is the duo of dave one and pee thugg, also known as david macklovitch and patrick gemayel, two longtime friends who began making music together in childhood. before establishing themselves as chromeo, they produced beats for québec hip-hop acts including shades of culture, dubmatique, sans pression, and yvon krevé. in the summer of 2000, tiga approached dave about an electronic music project on turbo, and by 2001 the duo had signed to the label after completing a demo. their sound incorporates analog synths, rock guitars, 808s, rhodes, and talk box.
