chicane

chicane is the primary alias of british songwriter and producer nick bracegirdle. he first gained attention in the mid-1990s alongside leo elstob as the duo disco citizens, scoring a uk top 40 hit with "right here right now" in 1995. their track "offshore," originally released as an ambient piece under the chicane name, was remixed into a more dancefloor-oriented version by disco citizens and entered the uk singles chart at number 14 in december 1996. bracegirdle later enlisted clannad's máire brennan for a reworking of "theme from harry's game" retitled "saltwater," which reached the uk top 10. in march 2000, the single "don't give up" featuring bryan adams gave him his first uk number one.
