carl craig

born in detroit in 1969, carl craig is an electronic music pioneer and founder of planet e communications, a label that has released hip-hop, jazz, funk, and esoteric electronic music from international artists for over 30 years. working under aliases including 69, paperclip people, and c2, he has produced six albums and more than 600 remixes for artists such as depeche mode, tori amos, kenny larkin, and kevin saunderson. his 2008 remix of junior boys' "like a child" earned a grammy nomination. he founded the detroit love event series and was involved in detroit's electronic music festival at the turn of the millennium, later launching the "all black vinyl" instagram series that evolved into the "all black digital" partnership with beatport and qwest tv in 2022.
