aisha is a roots reggae singer born in wolverhampton in 1962 to jamaican parents, beginning her musical journey as a child performer on her father's soundsystem. she initially sang as a backing vocalist for capital letters before pursuing a solo career, with mad professor producing her debut album high priestess in 1988. her subsequent releases include daughters of zion and collaborative work with norman grant, and she has performed at notable venues and festivals including london's royal festival hall.
