boomtown

boomtown is a large-scale annual multi-day festival held at a natural amphitheatre site in hampshire, structured around a fictional city concept in which each stage area functions as a distinct themed district with its own name, visual identity, costumed characters, and embedded narrative. production runs to full theatrical scale across the site, with elaborate set builds, live actors, and immersive world-building alongside the music programming.

the lineup spans a wide range of genres including reggae, drum and bass, hip hop, grime, world music, and electronic styles, with dedicated areas covering harder and darker electronic sounds within the broader programme. the festival has been running since 2009 and regularly draws crowds in the tens of thousands to the matterley basin site.
