arkana is a three-day psytrance, dark progressive and techno festival held at altitude in the sacred valley of the incas, running since 2012 and now in its fourteenth year. founded and directed by peruvian producer and dj mallki, who is also affiliated with the dark progressive and psytechno label padang records, the festival draws artists and attendees from across south america and beyond to a mountain site sitting at around 2,800 metres elevation.

the programming centres on psytrance, dark progressive and techno, woven together with andean ritual and cultural elements that reflect the region's indigenous heritage. over more than a decade it has established itself as one of the anchor events on the south american psy calendar, known for keeping its scale intimate relative to its reputation and maintaining close ties with the surrounding local community.
