koenji cave is a small bar and club in the koenji neighbourhood that runs an ongoing programme of psy-oriented nights under several recurring series banners, including phantom, laboratory, tempest, elven dance, and infinity. phantom is one of the longer-running of these series, now at its thirtieth edition, and sits on the goatrance and psychedelic trance end of the spectrum while drawing in ambient, psy dub, and house across its two rooms.

this edition runs a main floor alongside a lounge, giving the night a split format between higher-energy and more laid-back programming. the venue is a compact bar-club space, consistent with koenji's reputation as a hub for underground electronic and alternative culture in tokyo.
