a five-day non-commercial gathering run by the kulturkosmos collective since 1997, held on a former soviet military airfield in northeastern germany. the site hosts more than thirty stages covering techno, house, psytrance, live acts, theatre, cinema, and large-scale art installations, with infrastructure built by volunteers.
the event operates without advertising or corporate sponsorship, and access is distributed by lottery rather than open sale. attendance reaches around 70,000 per edition, making it one of the largest and longest-running gatherings of its kind in europe.
