smukfest

smukfest is a large multi-day outdoor festival held in a beech forest, run largely by a volunteer crew known as smukcrew. it has been running since 1980, growing from a small gathering of around a thousand people into one of the more established festivals on the danish calendar. the site has seen ongoing infrastructure development over the decades, including a redesigned stage area planned for this edition.

the programming spans a broad range of popular and mainstream acts rather than a focused electronic or psy lineup, with the forest setting and long-running communal character being central to its identity. the full festival week includes warm-up camping days before the main concert programme begins.
